    We have a dresser that we love and can't part with. We were happy to see this design match it so we bought the full set. It has enough space below to hide storage containers. The headboard is high enough to actually use it for reading in bed.

    For the past several months, I've been trying to look for a decent quality bed that will go with my contemporary Japanese decor and at the same time won't break the bank. I was ecstatic when I found the Hida bed and ordered it right away. [...] Assembly was easy, though. Despite that some of the pieces do have veneer surfaces, the bed is very sturdy. Also, one of the other reviewers mentioned that the frame is somewhat larger than the appropriate-sized mattress (causing parts of the slats to show), which is true. I don't find it bothersome, and tossing on an over-sized comforter will easily cover the gaps. Overall, I find this bed to be a great buy!

    This bed is great and just the style we wanted. However, it is a bit too big for our king-size mattress. You can see the slats on the bottom of the bed because our mattress doesn't cover them completely. Thankfully, once you get your comforter on and fluff it up a bit, no one will know. Since most king size mattresses are the same size, I'm confused as to why this isn't a perfect fit (we don't have a california king). Still, a good sturdy bed and great style.

    Very nice, minimalist design. Low to the ground. My only complaint is that the surfaces of the wood are veneers, and not solid wood.
